When I first arrived in Alberta three years ago, I immediately knew that Paladin Security was for me and I haven’t looked back since. I decided I wanted to become a part of this renowned organization thanks to the company-paid security training, employee perks and benefits, and also the abundance of opportunities to develop your career.
There are so many different positions to excel in, but I decided to become a Healthcare Security Officer. I joined one of the busiest hospitals in Alberta, working extensively with my team to ensure the safety and security of all patients, staff and visitors on site.
During my time here, I took every opportunity to learn and become more involved in the security industry. I joined our Edmonton branch’s Joint Occupational Health & Safety Committee, and eventually took on the role of Committee Co-Chair. I was able to network with my peers and avail of mentorship programs, not only in my own portfolio but in other branch portfolios as well. I also trained at various other sites, so I was able to expand my experience and expertise by working in diverse environments.
Within a year, I was promoted to Healthcare Contract Supervisor, where I now work closely with our Healthcare Client Service Manager and where I’m further challenged every day in the smooth running of our client's contract.
James recently participated in Paladin's unique Junior Management Training Program, where he discusses his experience in the industry and what it means to be part of the #PaladinFamily, as highlighted on PaladinSecurityTV.
