Four years ago, Paladin began our Junior Management Training Program (JMTP) - an idea conceived to prepare high-level performers from all of our branches to become managers.
Each year, selected candidates are flown to Paladin Head Office in Vancouver for a week's intensive training in subjects like leadership skills, time management, labour law and risk assessments.
Once the course is completed, each candidate returns to their home branch with an assignment which forces them to evaluate the program and make recommendations to improve the course.
This year's course has just wrapped up and twenty-one exceptional leaders of tomorrow are returning to their home cities with a newfound knowledge, and perhaps more importantly, a renewed energy and excitement to get back and put their skills to work.
"I am always amazed at the impressive young folks who take part in this training ever year," commented Chief Operations Officer Leo Knight. "They make me feel confident in the future of our company."
The highlight of the week is a finale dinner held at the Irish Heather in Gastown and this year was no exception as trainees mixed with senior managers and course instructors to talk about what they learned throughout the week and how they will put it to work for them.
