Everyday, our Paladin Family strives to make the world a safer and friendlier place. We are privileged to share a recent story of one of our Security Officers in Kelowna, Christian S., sent in by one of our valued clients:
I wanted to acknowledge one of your own team members, Christian. His recent act of compassion really did embody a workplace in which I am proud to work, and a corporation of which I am proud to be a part of.
I walked in to work my emergency shift on Friday, May 4 at the hospital. At that time, there were a series of very sick patients that came through the department. The staff was preoccupied with accepting them into trauma rooms and taking care of them. As I hurriedly rounded the corner, a female family member was standing in the hallway beside one of the trauma rooms, looking extremely distressed and pacing - she obviously was a family member of a patient who was being resuscitated. Christian was talking to her and asked if he could help her- very kindly. To which she said she didn't know what to do, and she reached out to Christian and started sobbing. He hugged her as she sobbed uncontrollably in the hallway of the emergency department, providing comfort.
That image will forever be etched in my mind as an example of care and culture that goes above and beyond an employee's role. If we can continue to keep caring in what we do, we will clearly be able to produce high quality care, and provide that when we or our families need it. - Dr. Devin Harris
We are so proud of Christian for this amazing demonstration of compassion and empathy which goes beyond the call of duty!
