Our Paladin Security Officers make a difference in the lives of the people they meet every day, as demonstrated this month by healthcare security Shift Supervisor Rebecca Neiland, who was featured on “In the Loop,” Interior Health’s news site for employees and physicians.
Rebecca assisted RPN Debbie Henderson in delivering safe patient care at Kelowna General Hospital. The patient in question had complex needs and was very agitated, until Rebecca took the time to create a genuine bond with the patient.
Debbie wrote,
“It’s easy to forget sometimes when we are working in such a task-based environment that there is a real person on the receiving end of these procedures, who is scared, and they need a human approach with someone showing them compassion, patience and confidence during the interaction. I’m so grateful for Rebecca demonstrating those qualities… I have to say, I went home leaving this shift knowing that this patient received excellent care. You should be proud of your staff member.”
