Why did you get into the security industry & why Paladin?
My security journey began in August of 2011 and joining Paladin seemed destined to me. After spending the year prior in the moving industry, I started to think to myself; "Is this what I want to do for the rest of my life?" I then began to seek out other career paths that had more advancement opportunities. After doing some research on the security industry, I was intrigued and immediately applied for my license. I started work at Centennial College as an extra coverage guard and worked extremely hard to land a full-time postion as a patrol guard. I continued to work hard and was able to move up to the Dispatcher position. I refused to get comfortable and continued to push myself, which resulted in me becoming one of the Duty Supervisors.
A few months prior to June of 2013, we were advised that Paladin Security would be taking over the Centennial College security contract. We were all given the option to either stay with the current security company or switch to the successor. I immediately began researching Paladin to bring some clarity to my decision and love at first sight is the only way I could describe how I felt! When we finally had our orientation meeting with various Paladin managers, it was like a first date that went perfectly!! It was very clear to me that this was a company that anyone should want to join in order to progress in their careers. I remember thinking to myself; "There must be a reason why Paladin Security is taking the country by storm, so I need to be a part of this."
Paladin Security is a well organized company that strives for perfection and the betterment of the industry on a day-to-day basis, which allign with my goals. From the beginning, my colleagues have never failed to showcase their generosity, friendliness and professionalism if and when I reach out to them.
Joining Paladin was one of the best decisions I ever made.
