WE ARE AN EXTENSION OF YOUR AIRPORT SECURITY PROGRAM
In the last decade, Paladin has grown to provide leading aviation security services to major airports across Canada. Services typically range from pre-screening and access control for terminal and airside security, or property-wide security—such as escort services, municipal by-law enforcement, and mobile patrol support for the entire property. Paladin Security’s highly-trained officers are the right choice to secure and serve your visitors, airlines and staff.

Access Control, Screening & Terminal Security
Paladin maintains a high level of professionalism to ensure the safe, secure movement of travellers, luggage, employees and cargo throughout the airport with efficiency and promptness—while adhering to strict Transport Canada, CBSA and CATSA regulations. Our officers learn through mandatory legislated training how to implement various kinds of patrol techniques, and how to handle challenges specific to the airport environment—such as unauthorized persons entering into restricted areas, or vehicles and items left unattended in the terminal or curbside. Our highly-trained officers handle difficult situations swiftly and respectfully to ensure the safety of the public and your facility.
Mobile Patrol
Our services cover a crucial element of airport security through high-profile mobile patrols. As airports can have large areas to cover, our designated mobile units provide overall security to your site during peak hours. We have handled issues including individuals attempting to perform unauthorized passenger services, and solicitors trying to engage in unauthorized commercial activities. In these scenarios, mobile security units have proven essential.
Escorting Services
Paladin understands that the needs of our clients and the demands for various services within the airport environment are under very strict regulations set out by Transport Canada. We have trained our employees on the appropriate regulations to provide escorting services to contractors who have not obtained the necessary security clearance to access restricted areas, both within the terminal and airside. This service ensures that contractors are able to continue to provide necessary services to the airport (i.e. construction, deliveries and various events).
Ground & Curbside Service
Paladin believes customer service plays a crucial role in defining the first impression for travellers, tenants and employees—providing a positive experience from when people first arrive curbside, to when they reach their final destination. As officers serve at the frontlines, they will be the first point of contact for many users of an airport, and it is essential that they represent you to the best of their abilities. To facilitate this, our officers go through a rigorous customer service training program before being deployed to an airport. Our program emphasizes professionalism, using positive language, active listening, greeting travellers, avoiding jargon when speaking, and dealing with irate passengers in the most professional way. We have tailored our program to address the changing needs of airports, and more specifically, to ensuring a positive experience from curbside to destination for individuals who experience mobility issues.
Parking Management
Paladin manages land-side airport services, such as parking and curbside operations. Our qualified, highly-trained officers are provincially certified to enforce local and municipal by-laws, or infraction penalties where necessary. We also provide unique services such as Scooper Patrol to help airports ensure their policies are strictly enforced. On top of that, we provide state-of-the-art parking management solutions and technology through our sister company Concord Parking—offering premiere services to airports, as well as Class A shopping centres, office complexes, educational facilities and local governments.

We recently received the Canadian Security Director of the Year award and it is reflective of the Paladin team’s excellence. This was the first time an airport has been recognized for security and this is a good deterrence tool, but more importantly, it recognizes how Paladin’s efforts are leading the way in aviation security. Whether it’s reducing public curb threats, creating a new standard with concierge airport security, or providing high quality training for multi-spectrum of threats, YOW is leading the way with airport security thanks to Paladin’s efforts.
KEY SERVICES FOR Aviation
What security services do airports require?
Airports require aviation security services that protect passengers, employees, contractors, luggage, cargo, vehicles, and restricted areas while supporting smooth airport operations. Common airport security services include curbside and parking support, traffic control, terminal patrols, escort services, airside security, pre-screening support, baggage support, access control for terminal and airside areas, mobile patrol, unattended item response, passenger wayfinding, and coordination with airport stakeholders. Because airports are highly regulated, aviation security teams must combine strong security procedures with customer service, operational awareness, and site-specific training.
How does access control support airport and aviation security?
Access control helps airports manage the safe, secure movement of travellers, employees, contractors, luggage, and cargo throughout terminal, airside, and restricted areas. Trained aviation security officers support credential checks such as Restricted Area Identity Cards (RAICs), airside/groundside/curbside clearances, restricted area procedures, patrols, access control for controlled doors, gates, checkpoints, and other access points, and escalation protocols to help prevent unauthorized access and maintain regulatory compliance. Other important duties of aviation security include supporting incident investigations by maintaining records of authorized access and helping security personnel identify unusual or unauthorized activity, and protecting aircraft, passengers, employees, and critical airport infrastructure from potential security threats.
What is included in screening and terminal security services?
Screening focuses on checking passengers, airport staff, contractors, delivery drivers, and their belongings, while terminal security focuses on maintaining a safe, controlled, and secure environment throughout the airport terminal, including airside, groundside, and curbside. Together, they provide multiple layers of protection for airport and aviation operations.
Screening security services may include pre-screening support and baggage checks. Terminal security services may include terminal patrols, unattended item response, passenger assistance, access verification, and coordination with airport stakeholders. These services help airports maintain a secure, efficient, and customer-focused environment while supporting aviation safety standards.
How do ground and curbside service teams improve the airport experience?
Groundside and curbside service teams help manage traffic flow, passenger wayfinding, ensure bylaw compliance, address unattended vehicles, and ensure safety around airport entrances and transportation areas. By combining customer service with a visible security presence, aviation security personnel can reduce congestion, respond quickly to concerns, and create a safer, more efficient experience for travellers, employees, and visitors.
Groundside airport security services may include providing directions, helping travellers navigate terminal entrances and transportation areas, and assisting passengers who need additional support. Uniformed personnel also provide reassurance, help deter unsafe or unauthorized activity, and support airport operations during emergencies, traffic disruptions, special events, and periods of high passenger volume.
Curbside security services may include monitoring public areas for safety concerns, unattended items, suspicious activity, and other issues requiring attention. Security personnel can also help reduce congestion by directing taxis, rideshare vehicles, buses, commercial vehicles, and private vehicles to designated pickup, drop-off, and parking areas.
When are escorting services needed at an airport?
Airport escort services are used when contractors, vendors, visitors, personnel, or vehicles need supervised access to restricted or controlled areas. Common situations include temporary work, construction or maintenance in secure operational areas, special events or airport projects, authorized vehicle movements, and access for individuals awaiting permanent airport credentials, where permitted by airport policies and security requirements.
Trained aviation security officers supervise escorted access and help people and vehicles move safely through airport property. They verify authorization, maintain required oversight, and support compliance with airport access control procedures, site-specific security protocols, and applicable regulatory requirements.
