Shawna Roach and Jess Ching, pictured, recently became recipients of the Paladin’s Finest program. This program was created to recognize staff who go above and beyond on a daily basis, within our four established categories of Care, Leadership, Service and Integrity. Members of the Mount Sinai Hospital Security Team, Shawna and Jess have shown these values continually and serve as an excellent example of what Paladin strives for.

Recently, Shawna and Jessica were informed by a nurse of an incident in the ER. Making full use of their training and experience at the site, they were able to connect with the patient on a compassionate level. This led to the de-escalation of the situation and a safe outcome for both the patient and staff.
This is just one of many examples where Shawna and Jess have exceeded expectations to ensure staff, patients and visitors of Mount Sinai Hospital are treated in a safe environment. While Shawna is already in a supervisory role, both her and Jess continually demonstrate quality leadership to ensure the department is functioning optimally. They have been integral in training new staff and can be relied upon for anything they are called upon for.
