On July 22, 2017 our Paladin team partnered with Building Futures Employment Society to provide security for a community event held at their head office location in Lower Sackville, Nova Scotia.
Building Futures Employment Society is a local Social Enterprise offering vocational services and recreational services to people with intellectual disabilities, it is the goal of building futures to help create a strong, sustainable and socially inclusive society while also helping to grow the local economy.
The community event entitled “We are One Festival," which was held to celebrate the richness of our differences through diversity, inclusion, equity, culture and heritage. The event was well attended and free of charge, featuring live music, dancing, a free BBQ, along with face painting, bouncy castles and other activities.
Paladin Security Site Supervisor Alex Barr, and Regional Manager, Tom Taggart volunteered their time to provide security for the event and its participants. The event was a great success for building futures and organizers expressed their gratitude to Paladin for its support in ensuring the safety and security of the event.

Our Halifax Branch has been extremely fortunate to have officers and managers so eager to volunteer within our community and have provided free volunteer services to a number of other charity and not-for-profit events throughout our community. We look forward to building on these accomplishments and partnerships in future events and opportunities.
