50 Years and a Great Place to Work®

Paladin Security is proud to announce that it is the first guarding company in Canada to earn the Great Place to Work® certification, a recognition based entirely on employee feedback and workplace experience. This achievement comes during Paladin’s 50th anniversary year, making the milestone especially meaningful as the company reflects on five decades of strategic growth, service excellence, and commitment to its people.

Since 1976, Paladin has built its reputation on delivering industry leading security programs to clients across North America. Behind that success are thousands of dedicated Paladinians who show up every day to protect people, support communities, and represent the company’s CARE values in action. This certification is not only a recognition of the workplace Paladin is today. It reflects the culture employees have helped shape over the last 50 years.

“When somebody recognizes you for the culture that you have and the combined efforts of our team, it really means a lot to us," Says President, Chad Kalyk; "so many people have been on journeys with us over the last 50 years, and that combination of efforts has driven a culture that is impressive, inspiring, and motivating every single day.”

Paladin’s culture has long been one of the company’s strongest differentiators. Built around people, service, and long-term career growth, it is shaped by the company’s CARE Values: Curious, Accountable, Respectful, and Exceptional. These values guide how employees serve clients, support one another, and engage with the communities where they work.

The Great Place to Work® Certification reinforces what Paladin has believed from the beginning: investing in people creates stronger teams, stronger client partnerships, and stronger communities. Through Paladin University, in-house training, leadership development, and the Future Leaders Program, employees have access to learning and advancement opportunities throughout their careers.

Nancy Tavares, VP of People & Culture reflects on this achievement saying, "this certification has special meaning for us because it's based directly on our employee feedback. Over the years, we've been listening and incorporating that feedback, including investing in our leadership and employee development programs.”

Paladin’s promotion-from-within philosophy has also helped create long-term career pathways across the organization. Many leaders began their journeys as frontline Security Officers before advancing into supervisory, management, and executive roles. These stories demonstrate that growth at Paladin is not defined by where someone starts, it is the outcome of the support, training, and opportunities available to help them succeed.

Recognition is another important part of Paladin’s culture. Through programs such as the CARE Awards, tenure recognition, and the Because You CARE Awards, Paladin celebrates employees who go above and beyond for clients, colleagues, and communities. These programs highlight the courage, compassion, accountability, and professionalism that define the organization’s people-first approach.

Every year, employees across the country are recognized for meaningful actions, from responding to emergencies and providing lifesaving assistance to creating positive moments for clients and community members. These stories bring Paladin’s culture to life and show why employees continue to take pride in the work they do.

“The feedback from our people that makes me the proudest is the fact they feel like they make a difference, whether it’s in other people’s lives, their colleagues’ lives, or the organization’s life.' Says Kalyk. "It’s a fantastic thing when they feel like they make a difference every day they come to work.”

Creating a great workplace also means supporting employees personally and professionally. Paladin continues to invest in employee wellness through programs such as the Employee and Family Assistance Program, competitive benefits, professional development opportunities, and resources that support physical, mental, and emotional well-being.

Paladin also strives to create an environment where every employee feels valued, included, and supported. Through valuable community partnerships, Indigenous recruitment programs, and employee engagement efforts, the company continues to strengthen a culture where people can contribute, grow, and succeed.

Paladin Security is a people-first organization built on 50 years of service, growth, and community impact. Its CARE Values create an environment where employees are encouraged to learn, lead, support one another, and deliver exceptional service. As Paladin looks ahead to the future, the company remains committed to listening to employees, investing in development, and creating meaningful opportunities for people to thrive.

While the Great Place to Work® Certification is an important milestone, Paladin views it as part of an ongoing commitment. Great workplaces are built through continuous improvement, strong leadership, recognition, and the everyday contributions of employees across the organization.

“Great workplaces are built by the people within them," says Tavares; "and we are incredibly grateful to everyone who has contributed to the culture we are building here at Paladin. This achievement belongs to the whole team.”
