Paladin Security is proud to share news of its new partnership with the Infinity Metis Corporation (IMC) in the Fort McMurray and Wood Buffalo region.

Founded in 2003, Infinity Métis Corporation aims to build strategic partnerships with companies servicing the Wood Buffalo Region to create work opportunities for McMurray Métis members. Social well-being and community impact are important considerations in all initiatives pursued by the IMC.

“As leaders in the Canadian security industry, it’s clear to IMC that Paladin shares our values and that makes this partnership meaningful,” says Shawn Myers, President & CEO of Infinity Métis Corporation; “our commitment to safety, professionalism, operational excellence and community impact will benefit the people of Fort McMurray and Wood Buffalo.”

The Fort McMurray and Wood Buffalo region is world-renowned for oil production, primarily due to the Athabasca oil sands, which are among the largest deposits of bitumen on the planet. The work opportunities at these oil sands are both challenging and rewarding; specialized training is required for all scopes of work.

“As a proudly Canadian company, we work coast-to-coast-to-coast to build meaningful and impactful relationships with indigenous groups as part of our ongoing commitment to reconciliation,” says Chad Kalyk, President of Paladin Security; “the addition of IMC to our network provides us with a strong, like-minded partner to expand our presence in Northern Alberta.”

This partnership adds to Paladin’s existing 25+ relationships with indigenous groups across the country and is a testament to Paladin’s ongoing commitment to creating meaningful opportunities for indigenous businesses and people alike.

In addition, Paladin is both experienced and well-positioned to provide value to oil and gas companies. With 2,600-plus employees in Alberta and 6 offices throughout the province, Paladin has an established presence in the region and a proven ability to develop and implement customized security programs that meet the unique needs of each site.

In Fort McMurray and Wood Buffalo, the community can expect Paladin’s engagement in several local events each year, beginning with the Annual Infinity Golf Tournament in support of the McMurray Métis Bursary Program and the Elders Christmas Celebration. According to Myers, “these events create meaningful opportunities to celebrate Métis culture, strengthen community connections, and support future generations.”

Through public gatherings, educational experiences, and community celebrations, Citizens, families, students, partners, and businesses come together to share in the richness of Métis identity and build a stronger future together.

“Paladin is committed to fostering meaningful employment opportunities for Indigenous peoples by providing accessible training and professional development programs,” shares Kalyk, “our approach removes barriers to entry into the security industry by delivering on-site training within Indigenous communities, ensuring accessibility and inclusivity.”

Together, Paladin and IMC are steadfast in creating meaningful opportunities for all stakeholders in the area.
