Paladin Security has deepened its roots in the Kamloops market with the acquisition of Desert City Investigations and Security Inc. The agreement took effect January 1st, and is the first acquisition for our Kamloops branch, which started operating in 2013.
Growth within the Kamloops Market
Desert City has a rich history in the Kamloops market, delivering excellence in customer service and peace of mind for a diverse range of clients, including those in property management, government, hotel, and the retail market for over 30 years.
“The Desert City acquisition allows us to further enhance our service capabilities in the Thompson Nicola region,” Shane Wright, Executive Vice President of Paladin Security in BC, said.
The acquisition also advances Paladin’s commitment to the Kamloops marketplace as we continue to grow, expand, and diversify.
“As our business enters its eighth year of operation in Kamloops, and 45th year of service nation-wide, we are firmly committed to growing our local market presence and expanding our quality-driven, holistically approached security solutions to benefit all clients in the region,” Wright continued.
Paladin Security’s Kamloops Branch Operations Manager, Ryan Anderson, agrees, saying the company is honoured Desert City believes Paladin is the best organization to continue providing quality service to their clients.
“Living within the same local communities as Desert City’s clients, our Kamloops-based management team takes this growth of responsibility seriously; we are committed to promoting their legacy indefinitely,” Anderson explained. “Providing a full range of security services, Desert City has reduced risk to property owners through an approach that Paladin will continue to maintain and grow further.”
Expanding our Reach
Since laying down roots in the Thompson-Nichola region, Paladin has seen steady growth, providing security to three of the largest retail shopping centres, as well as a number of municipal and provincial government facilities in the area. The acquisition of Desert City is a perfect fit for Paladin because it bolsters our existing Mobile Security Department and allows us to offer our new and existing clients a higher level of support, including increased hours of operation and responsiveness.
Acquisition Changes
While Desert City’s team of over 30 officers remains place, Pat Bodnard has taken the opportunity to pass along his business to Paladin and retire after 33 years in the industry. Meanwhile, Office Manager Peggy Mathers, who was a key member of the Desert City team, has decided to transition into an office role with Paladin, ensuring continuity of services and vital historical knowledge.
“We feel very honoured that Pat has entrusted us to assume the care for his clients who have been so loyal to him over the years,” added Wright.
