Laura Kirby-McIntosh nominated Ana for her assistance during an incident in the mall, appearing together on CBC and writing in The Toronto Star;
Parents of autistic children rely on ‘angels’ such as Ana. When my son had a breakdown at the malI, I felt comforted by Ana’s presence, knowing we were safer as a result of her help. She was patient and strong, and no matter what I asked her to do, she did it ... She spoke to me calmly, reassured me that I was doing a great job and helped to keep the people around us safe. I remember feeling comforted by her presence, knowing that we were safer as a result of her help.
Client Service Manager Blair Davenport, from Paladin's Toronto branch, commented; “We are so proud of Ana and her entire team for their professionalism and the caring approach they display on a daily basis. Sometimes, the perception in security is that we focus on the enforcement side of the job, whereas a huge part of our role is helping those who are simply having a bad day - people who are in need of assistance and understanding. Ana’s actions embody the Paladin difference and she is a great role model for Security Officers across the industry."
