They wear uniforms that say "Security," but their work takes them to many areas of the hospital. Many individuals in the security team are actually Patient Monitors who sit with patients when needed. These often occur at night when patients may be restless or disoriented. They are an extra set of eyes, a compassionate voice, or welcomed companion. It's not surprising then that one member of this fine team won not one, but two "I Care" Awards!
In both of the letters we received, the families making the nominations spoke about how Carol continuously went out of her way to help them while they were in the hospital with their loved ones. They spoke about her friendliness, compassion, and the care that helped them when they needed it most. One mentioned how her smiles helped them get through a really tough night. Looking after patients is one thing, but caring for the families who are gathered outside hospital rooms is that extra gift of caring that Carol clearly possesses.
Congratulations on winning two "I Care" Awards, Carol Carter!
