Trevor Gray has been a part of the Paladin Family for over two years, currently working as a Site Manager at one of Vancouver's busiest sites. He joined the Canadian Armed Forces in 1987, and is now a member of the primary reserves. Learn about his story and Remembrance Day insights below:

What service branch were you with and how long did you serve?
I joined the Canadian Armed Forces in 1987 out of high school and am currently a member of the primary reserves in the Royal Canadian Electrical Mechanical Engineers branch.

What skills/values did you develop while in service that helped you be successful in your role today?
“The Canadian Armed Forces Core Values” of honesty, loyalty, integrity and courage do not differ much from Paladin’s expectations. The Canadian Armed Forces’ pride for developing leaders has provided me with invaluable skills, applicable to my role within Paladin Security. I cannot think of any task I have been given as a Security Professional that wasn’t in some way related or interchangeable with something I have done with the military.

If you could give advice to someone following in your footsteps today, what would it be?
My advice to anyone perusing either or both occupations  is “Be a professional and proud of it”.

What does Remembrance Day mean to you?
Remembrance Day is undoubtedly the most special yet emotional day in my year. The meaning of Remembrance Day for me, I don’t believe to be any different from any other grateful citizen. However, hearing the playing of “Last Post”  has certainly become more personal as many of the veterans we now honour were my colleagues or friends.
