The prestigious Canadian Security Lifesaver Association®(CSLA) Award recognizes exceptional front-line security professionals who, through their heroic actions, have prevented a potentially life-threatening injury or situation.

CSLA Winner Profile: Rain Lamarsh - Kamloops, Mobile Team

Security Officer Rain Lamarsh was recently honoured with a CSLA award. One remarkable incident on the Overlander Bridge showcased his heroism. Faced with a critical situation, Rain's empathetic, calming, and comforting approach successfully prevented a person from jumping off the bridge.

Rain Lamarsh is a shining example of dedication and compassion in the world of security. Rain's journey began as a bouncer, but his unwavering desire to make a profound impact on society led him down a path of continuous growth and self-improvement. Rain embarked on a journey of learning, taking courses like Mental Health First Aid and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention to broaden his skill set.

Rain's dedication knew no bounds. He joined the Paladin Security mobile team in Kamloops and demonstrated an insatiable thirst for knowledge. He would stay late, driven by his commitment to constant improvement. It didn't take long for Rain's exceptional qualities to shine through, and within just eight months in the mobile department, he was promoted to Mobile Shift Supervisor.

Rain's impact on the community goes far beyond his title. He has been a genuine lifesaver on multiple occasions, utilizing his security training, exceptional communication skills, and compassionate approach to help those in need. His recent win at the Canadian Security Lifesaver Association (CSLA) Awards 2023 speaks volumes about his bravery and extraordinary efforts.

Going Above and Beyond

Rain's impact extends beyond his job description. He received the June CARE Award, a Paladin Security internal recognition program, for his quick thinking and selflessness. While driving, Rain heard someone yelling for help and didn't hesitate to intervene. He administered Naloxone, performed CPR, and ultimately saved a life. Paramedics credited Rain for his heroic actions, stating that without him, the outcome could have been tragic.

Rain's exceptional work ethic and leadership have also translated into remarkable results for the mobile team. They've gone an impressive four months without missing a patrol and have set records for alarm and emergency response calls month after month. This success has also resulted in the department experiencing its lowest turnover in the past six years.

Rain's commitment to making our world safer and friendlier is truly admirable. He is not just an asset to the Paladin Family; he's a source of inspiration for all of us. His dedication and compassion are changing lives and making our community a better place. We're incredibly proud to have him as part of our team!
