With Halloween creeping up on us (mwah ha ha!), one superstar Paladin Security Officer from our Victoria branch, Robbie Durose, decided to brighten up the day of sick kids in the Children’s unit of Victoria General Hospital by donating 25 decorative pumpkins.
Robbie, who was one of the winners of our Paladin Family video contest during the summer, commented; "I started this tradition for my daughter last year, so this year I wanted to take the idea to the next level by designing and displaying a variety of childhood characters for children and their families to enjoy. Paladin was so supportive and agreed to fully sponsor the project by donating all of the supplies and decorations."
I painted characters from all sorts of kids' TV shows and movies like Star Wars, Sesame Street and Minions, to name a few," he added. "I'm grateful to Paladin for helping to make this project a success and, more importantly, for making kids smile who are in the hospital for Halloween. My birthday is on Halloween too, so that made it even more special. Big thanks to HR Manager Taylor Acton and Scheduling Coordinator Billie Travers for their assistance...even better, the kids will get to keep their favourite pumpkin, so thanks also to VGH for their support!
