Security Officers, Lindsay Shaver and Kamila Iskhakova get Involved in Strathcona Community Activity
In late December, 2017, Strathcona Security Officers, Lindsay Shaver and Kamila Iskhakova along with Lotus Light Charity Society took some time to hand out food and winter essentials packages to individuals exposed to the elements. Before doing so, the Society got in touch with our Officers on duty to see if this was something they would like to take part in. Without any hesitation, Lindsay and Kamila agreed— handing out these needed items connected our Officers to the people within the community, gaining their trust and cooperation as we continue our partnership with the Strathcona BIA.
The Strathcona area is one of the oldest residential neighbourhoods in Vancouver and is home to over 11,000 people. Reflecting on the history of the Strathcona community, we have been extra considerate in ensuring that community members know our Security Officers are there to help in making them feel safe regardless of status or social position. Our Paladin team is engaged and driven in the work that they are doing each day. Being involved with the Lotus Light Charity Society with this activity helped to further reinforce the developing relationship between our team and the community.
The Lotus Light Charity Society is a non-profit organization who aims to educate, provide social assistance and create social awareness all over Vancouver. Since the organization’s inception in 1993, the organization has been fulfilling the dream and humanitarian vision of its founder, Buddhist Grand Master Sheng-Yen Lu, to provide help and comfort to people in need.
