We would like to extend a huge congratulations to Paladin Security Officer, Shannon Reilly, for receiving the 2019 John C. Grady Award for Security Officer of the Year from ASIS. This is Paladin Security’s 4th win since 2013!
Each year, our local ASIS chapter selects one outstanding Security Officer within the Canadian Pacific region and recognizes them for their outstanding service in the security profession. This year, Shannon Reilly received the award for her incredible dedication to our BC Hydro security program.
As the Corporate Buildings Manager for Paladin Security Group, Shannon is responsible for managing the frontline security personnel across several BC Hydro facilities. She is able to execute this tirelessly, while maintaining the high level of security standards she insists on. With nearly six years in this role, and many more working for Paladin within the BC Hydro program, Shannon has exceptional knowledge of Paladin’s business and her client’s standard operating procedures. This makes her essential to maintaining one of Paladin’s largest security clients.
“Shannon has been a part of the BC Hydro security program for a couple of decades. As such, she has witnessed, experienced, and participated in the evolution of the security program, especially as it relates to the corporate offices. Her unwavering commitment to customer service, security application, and professionalism, has made her a valuable team member of BC Hydro’s security program. As a direct contract manager over the last decade, I am grateful and thankful to have Shannon on our team.”
- Arik Garber, BC Hydro Senior Security Advisor
During her nearly 20 years with Paladin, Shannon has had the opportunity to manage a richly diverse staff with different backgrounds and skillsets. Despite the challenges associated with managing multiple teams across several high-profile corporate sites, Shannon has excelled in her role as she continuously finds ways to maintain her exacting standards. Although the nature of her sites are complex, Shannon maintains a very stable workforce with very high retention rates because of her leadership, care, and support of our people. She devotes extreme care and attention to the development of all of her employees and always goes above and beyond for her people and our client.
“Shannon is well liked and respected by her entire team. When I asked Shannon’s team for their input on who should be nominated for this award, every single person suggested Shannon. Her focus on ensuring her staff come first is extremely evident in her low turnover rate.”
- Mark Reid, Security Programs Manager
From a client relations standpoint, Shannon has earned respect and admiration from all clients within her buildings. She is often called on to participate in planning meetings, in order to ensure the security of the sites are considered when management adjusts the facility’s use. She also handles all of the day-to-day tasks and responsibilities with enthusiasm and a positive energy, which really makes the difference.
Shannon is an exceptional Security professional, who is greatly loved and respected by all those who interact with her. We thank Shannon for her commitment to Paladin Security, and her dedication to making the world a safer and friendlier place.
